A classic Oregon Pinot Noir that is balanced between fruit and earth notes, this would be delicious paired with proteins like tuna, salmon or roasted chicken. The acid of this Pinot Noir would be be emphasized by the subtle sweetness of roasted beets, carrots, Brussel sprouts or sweet peas. If you're enjoying a lighter snack, we're dreaming of warm roasted garlic bread, herbaceous goat cheeses, and sumptuous, spreadable cows milk cheeses, and Oregon Hazelnuts.

2016 Pinot Noir Cuvée

Taste the Willamette Valley in this beautiful cuvée of Pinot noir. In French, cuvée simply means blend and to us, it is our opportunity to blend barrels of Pinot noir from across the vintage with the goal of crafting a wine that is not only representative of the Willamette Valley Pinot noir and vintage, but is also delicious and approachable. Our cuvées are a blend of several sub-appellation sites and different clones of Pinot, intended to perfectly showcase the delicate dance that fruit, spice, tannin and acids do when Pinot Noir is at its best.

This 2016 Cuvée wine encapsulates the spirit of a classic Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. It evokes a sense of nostalgia with playful notes of cherry cola, and expresses an intriguing complexity with whispers of umami and mushroom. Delicious to sip on its own, this 2016 cuvee has more depth and complexity than our 2015, with smooth, balanced tannins. With notes of dried fruit and a woodsy finish, this Pinot Noir would be an ideal partner to a dinner, and its lingering finish will enhance any evening.

Vintage Information:

2016 was an absolutely beautiful growing year that lead to a well-balanced and concentrated wines. An early bud break lead to an early harvest and much like 2015 vintage, the fruit we brought in was picture perfect. Summer conditions in the Willamette Valley were warm and consistent, but without the heat spikes of the few previous years. This preserved the acidity that brings balance to our Pinot noirs. We also had smaller yields than both 2014 and 2015 and the berry size was moderate leading to more concentrated flavors. Overall there is an incredible energy to these wines, they show incredible balance and promise for cellaring.
